When a shared platform may fit

An established tooling platform can be evaluated when the target screen size, main structural dimensions, interface positions and assembly requirements are compatible. This route can reduce repeated development work, but compatibility must be confirmed rather than assumed.

When dedicated tooling becomes necessary

A custom mold is usually considered when the structure requires differentiated geometry, materials, interfaces, appearance or assembly performance. It may also be appropriate when the expected volume and product lifecycle justify a dedicated production path.
